We are recruiting on behalf of our client within the telecommunications industry for a Business Analyst with Product Ownership experience or a Product Manager with strong analysis skills to work on site for our client representing ij. The role will work alongside the Product Owners and other Product Analysts in an Agile Release Train (ART) or Scrum delivering as part of a major digital transformation initiative. The role requires a strong business analyst capable of not only documenting but also interpreting and defining business requirements in support of the Product Owner role. The Product Analyst will understand business requirements and work with the development team to ensure the realisation of business benefits. Finding solutions via deep analysis and research will be your passion. You will have experience of agile delivery and be an excellent and creative communicator.

Background:

Our client owns the relationship and P&L for 1400 multinational Customers and works with our clients Operating Companies to sell these Customers global and local products and services. These local products and services account for 45% of revenue, with our clients UK, Spain, Germany and Italy account for 80% i.e. 36%. The Novus digital tool tracks contract to cash to identify the status of provisioning these products and services and forecasting when they will achieve full revenue start date. This is achieved by digitally matching the Salesforce CRM closed own contracted new business and renewal product opportunities to their delivery data. Unlike with global products, OpCo products delivery data does not include the 1SF number or any other common identifier.

The role:

The role of the Business Analyst is to work with the Novus Project Team and the four big Operating companies to:

  • Identify the sources of delivery data (eg ordering, provisioning, billing, project management etc) for the high value local products and the business logic between these
  • Identify the data fields required in each data source required to track provisioning
  • Agree how daily automated data feeds will be delivered to the Novus Enterprise Data Mart (EDM)
  • Document the process data feeds for each OpCo
  • Assist in writing User Stories and the acceptance criteria in sufficient detail to enable the Novus EDM and Dashboard development teams to size required coding and processes and to define the sprints
  • Review and comment on the system integration test plan and results
  • Conduct the UAT, along with other member of the Novus team
  • Other business analyst activities relating to this project
  • Provide a weekly status report, in particular highlighting issues and risks which threaten the completion of this project by March’20
  • Have weekly 121s with the Novus Product Owner
  • Attend daily stand up calls with the Novus developers and project teams
  • Attend and present a report to the monthly Novus Steering Group

Essential skills, experience:

  • 5 years’ experience working as a Business Analyst in complex multi-project or scrum deliveries
  • Stakeholder management skills essential
  • Telecoms experience essential
  • SAFe Agile experience and knowledge of Jira essential
  • Process Analysis & design essential
  • Agile experience essential, including SAFe Agile and ideally certification (SAFe Product Owner)
  • Good Communications Skills

Ideal skills, experience:

  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrable creativity in engaging business stakeholders in the design and delivery process
  • Confident running customer workshops
  • Process documentation and definition tools e.g. ARIS, VISIO, etc.)
  • Experience of similar digital transformation programmes
  • Experience mentoring, training or coaching others to develop agile skill-sets
  • Experience working with offshore teams
  • Knowledge of German, Spanish or Italian will be an asset when working with those OpCos

Personality/Style:

  • The Candidate needs to have strong relevant experience of identifying and documenting product delivery data systems and the business logic between them
  • Have strong relevant experience of agile digital projects
  • Have worked for telecom operators, ideally with Vodafone in the business sector
  • Be innovative, solution orientated, self-driven and commercially minded
  • Be tenacious though professional in realising the required objectives
  • Be persuasive and have strong communication skills
  • Experience in data modelling – conceptual and logical will be an added advantage
