inglis jane has completed its first year as a Hearing Dogs sponsor.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is an amazing charity that trains our canine friends to help deaf people live fuller lives. Since 1982, the organisation has created a network of more than 900 hearing dogs, which alert their owners to doorbells, fire alarms and in some cases have even saved lives.

inglis jane has just completed a 12-month sponsorship of two black Labradors – two-year-old Hunter and one-year-old Connor. Hunter has just completed his training and is now helping a lady in Manchester build her independence and confidence, including taking her first train journey in four years. Connor is still in training but we know he will be working in London. He is being trained to be familiar with the London Underground and other services.

inglis jane CEO Nicky Hickman said: “Our team is passionate about inclusion – whether that be access to digital services or living as full a life as possible in the physical world.

“Deafness is a communications disability affecting almost 1 in 5 of us and can be a very isolating, so we are delighted to be supporting such a fantastic charity.”
